We refinished our sole with ultimate sole
UltimateSole.com and it turned out beautiful. One mistake I made was sanding off the old finish with 120 grit and an orbital sander. This caused TONS of sawdust to go everywhere on the boat, plus it was difficult to breath even with a mask. I was able to remove the old finish in a flash (about 2-3 hrs) but we are still dusting 10 weekends later!
The process was very easy, with use of a foam brush. You brush on 2 coats of sanding sealer letting it dry over night. The you sand lightly and brush on the top coats. We put on 3 top coats and it brushed on with a foam brush and leveled beautifully. Looking back, it was way easier then expected. The hardest part was the prep work and the dusting. If I had it to do over, I would use a liquid stripper and I would also us a teak wash or brightener. I have one area that has a little bit of darkness due to water stains. Overall it turned out great. Here is a photo just before the last coat was brushed on.
