Here is the process I use to change oil on our IP35 with a 3JH2E engine. This is easy and requires no special tools other than a small hand pump. You should develop a process for changing oil that will work when you are cruising or anchored out. This process is simple, it is also an easy clean up, and if you can't recycle the oil, then you can store it.

All items needed: Ice Pick, rubber gloves, ziploc baggie, paper towels, empty oil container from last oil change, small…

Pump out oil into empty container.

Take ICE PICK and punch 4-5 holes on the outside edge of the filter.

Loosen filter 180 degrees and punch a vent hole to allow the oil to drain out of the filter and into the ziplock bag.…

Add new oil using a funnel.

Clean up the pump, and place paper plugs into the hose ends to prevent drips.

Return pump into storage bag.

Wipe out sink. and clean up

Start engine and pump oil into filter fully.

Check filter for oil leaks...Check oil level on dip stick. CONGRATS you just changed your oil and saved money $$$$$
