I needed to pull the KBW10 Transmission off our 3JH2E Yanmar engine due to a small leak in the output coupler oil seal. This job lead to pulling the heat exchanger, alternator, starter and motor mounts since we were in there. The motor mounts had to go to help get the trans out. The mixing elbow had to go also cause it was in the way, so we pulled the heat exchanger. The alternator needed to go to get to the front motor mount to make it easier, it needed new bearings as sell. So, this job has grown, but with good help, we were able to get the transmission out in 4 hours. I have another KBW10 trans and will be putting that newer one back in. This KBW10 is OK, it runs fine, it just needs the oil seal replaced, which I have. Mack Boring will service this for $1,000 and a new KBW10 is $3,200. Here are the photos....
