I custom made aluminum backing plates and pre-drilled to match the ST16 pattern. The starboard side was easy to install. The port side not so much as there is only one ceiling cut-out.
Some would consider it wrong to use a winch on furling lines. However, as a single hander when the wind gets up, the mechanical advantage helps tremendously. Of course, I must be careful not to put too much mechanical advantage into the process. So far, up to 20 knots two turns around the winch makes it possible to control without a winch handle. Above 20 knots three turns and a winch handle give me all the control I need. Have not yet tried above 27Knots.
