Changing the water pump impeller on a 3JH2E Yanmar is a real pain due to the fact that you have to drop the starter to get to the impeller. Here is a photo essay on the process and what it looks like. This impeller was stuck and VERY DIFFICULT to remove.

Port side: impeller faces the back of the starter with about 2" of clearance. UNREAL!

2 bolts out and the starter dropped to the engine pan. Tight working spaces.

Impeller plate removed and old impeller ready for extraction. I should buy an impeller puller.
