6 volt vs 12 volt batteries

I am getting ready to replace my six (6) group 27 ships batteries and wonder if group 31 or 6 volt batteries are a better way to go. thanks Tom

I would look at DEKA AGM GP 31 and replace my 27s with these. They are nearly exactly the same size but 6 lbs heavier. They will give you 105 Ahr vs 92 Ahrs for the 27. You can get these Deka batteries shipped anywhere for free from tristatebattery.com/

So, YES...go with GP 31 and they should fit the same place your 27 are!

Also found this link: www.eastpennmanufacturing.com/applications/marine/ . I am thinking of going with Lifeline GPL-31xt AGM's for my next upgrade. Any issues ? reasons not to? For some reason my boat does not have a dedicated starting battery but apparently lifeline and deka has enough CCA to support that in a one bank configuration. lifelinebatteries.com/products/marine-batteries/gpl-31xt/
