Spent a day replacing the reefing lines for the fist reef point on my IP35. Got into a lot of trouble and had to resort to using an electrician's fid to get the job done. I noticed that the sheaves in the boom were not in very good shape and should be replaced. Is this possible, has anyone have any experience in this issue as a DYI?

We have IP35-165 and need to rebuild our boom reefing system. The original system has a shuttle block system inside the boom which does not work too well. Some owners have gone to single line reefing and did away with the blocks in the boom. That is my plan as well. Others have rebuilt the blocks with better blocks. I am 2.5 hrs from the boat, but this spring (May 2010) I plan to rebuild my boom as well. Let's see if anyone else has done this...
