IP owners and friends,
I was the fifth employee hired at IPY in 1981. I worked with Bob Johnson since the early 70's when he was with Irwin Yachts, at Endeavour Yachts, and then at Island Packet Yachts. I have been building boats since I was 20 years old, and still at it. I'll leave it at 35 years experience, without giving away too much about my age.
I , hands on, built the IP26 MKI, and MKII, the IP27, and the IP31. I hired, trained, and supervised the builders for the IP29, IP32, IP 35, IP37, IP40, IP45, and the Packet Cat.
I was in Customer Service for almost 15 years, attending rendezvous, taking the phone calls, and answering the emails to IPY, the IP discussion lists, and Home Port with questions and concerns of owners and wannabe's. I am a member of all of the discussion lists still and monitor all of the discussions.
IPY has always used the same construction techniques, even through the later models, so if you have questions about how to repair or access virtually anything on an IP, I can help. If you have questions about how your IP was built, feel free to contact me at anytime.
